Course Title: BNon-Communicable Diseases Prevention & Control

Course Description and Purpose

This course is for any learner who needs to understand how factors such as hygiene, cleanliness, nutrition, recreation and basic health care contribute to healthy living in order to reduce the burden of Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs). A learner who completed this course is able to:

  • Describe the common NCDs and the disease burden.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of measures that prevent and control NCDs.
Course Outcomes
  • The learner is able to recognize epidemiology of non-communicable diseases and related risk factors in Botswana
  • The learner is able to participate as a responsible citizen by understanding his/her role in basic prevention, early detection and treatment of non-communicable diseases in Botswana.
Entry Requirements

The course is offered to anyone who is interested in Prevention and Control of NCDs irrespective of any disability, learning difficulty, record of criminal conviction, age, gender, ethnic background and parental education or contextual data.

Award of Certification

Certificate of Participation valid for 02 years, will be awarded to learners for successfully completing the course.
